What makes an expensive tie different?
The silk and the interlining, which together decide how the knot forms and how the tie hangs. A well-made tie produces a dimple without coaxing and recovers its shape overnight; a cheap one does neither.
What tie width should I choose?
Between three and three and a quarter inches suits most men and will not date. Very narrow ties are tied to a moment, and that moment passes while the tie is still perfectly good.
How do I make a tie last?
Untie it properly every night rather than pulling it off over your head, and hang it. Leaving the knot in overnight is the single most common way a good tie is ruined.
Do you have ties to match a suit I own?
Come in with the jacket or the jacket in. Matching from memory or a photograph rarely works, and five minutes with both in hand settles it.
