What we actually carry

Worth knowing

Tailored clothing
Suits, sport coats and trousers, off the rack and made to measure. Our own Private Label alongside the mills we have used for decades.
Sportswear
Knitwear, polos, casual trousers and denim from makers we have carried long enough to trust.
Shirts and accessories
Dress shirts custom and ready-made, ties, belts, leather goods.
Footwear
Dress shoes and boots, including Tecovas.
Alterations
Done on site by Enrique, our master tailor, on anything we sell and on garments bought elsewhere.

Who is in the building

Who you will deal with

Wally Hardin
Owner. Has been fitting customers in this building since 1972 and is usually in the shop.
Austin Roberson
Store manager and buyer. Selects most of the range and runs the Private Label line.
Patrick Milligan
Haberdasher, and directs our ladies’ made-to-measure work.
Enrique
Master tailor, over twenty years with us. Every alteration is done by him, on site.
What that means
The person who measures you is the person who sees the order through. It is the main practical difference from a department store.

Common questions

The shop, answered

What brands does The Man’s Shop carry?

A rotating selection of established makers alongside our own Private Label. Rather than list brands that change season to season, the more useful answer is that we buy for fit and longevity, and Austin Roberson selects most of it personally.

Do you sell off-the-rack as well as custom?

Both. A good proportion of customers buy off the rack and have it altered here, which is faster and often the right answer. Custom is for when the fit or the cloth genuinely needs it.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Saturday, ten until five, closed Sundays. We are at 100 S. West Street with parking beside the building.

Do you carry big and tall sizes?

We fit a wide range off the rack and beyond that we make to measure, which is frequently the better answer above a certain size because the proportions change rather than just the measurements.

Do you alter clothing bought somewhere else?

Yes, routinely. Enrique works on garments from anywhere, and it is often how new customers first come to us.
