What matters

Worth knowing

The odor problem
Polyester traps odor and keeps it through washing. Bamboo-based fabric does not, and after one summer the difference is obvious.
Moisture
Moves moisture without the clammy feel of a synthetic against skin.
Beyond the gym
Polos and shirts that look like clothing rather than sportswear, which is most of what men actually want it for here.
Travel
Packs small, resists creasing, dries overnight in a hotel room.
Sizing
Runs closer to sportswear than tailoring. Worth trying on.

The process

Two visits, not five

First appointment
About an hour. Cloth, measurements, and a conversation about how you actually wear the garment.
Build
Four to six weeks. Nothing is rushed and nothing is sent overseas without us knowing where it is.
Collection
Twenty minutes. Anything needing adjustment goes to Enrique, who works on site.
Alterations
Included on what we make. There is no separate bill at collection.
Afterwards
Your pattern stays on file, so the next order is a phone call.

Common questions

Performance wear, answered

What makes Tasc different from other performance clothing?

The fabric is bamboo-based rather than purely synthetic, which means it manages moisture without retaining odor the way polyester does. In a climate this humid that difference becomes obvious within one summer.

Can I wear it outside the gym?

The polos and shirts are cut to look like clothing rather than athletic wear, which is what most customers actually buy them for — the school run, travel, and long hot days that are not workouts.

Does it travel well?

Unusually well. It packs small, resists creasing and dries overnight, which is why it ends up in the case of most customers who fly regularly.

Where are you and what are your hours?

100 S. West Street in downtown Arlington, parking beside the building. Monday to Saturday, ten until five, closed Sundays.
