The Man’s Shop is an independent menswear store at 100 S. West Street in downtown Arlington, serving Dallas since 1972. Tailored clothing, sportswear, shoes and custom work, with our own tailor on site. Monday to Saturday, ten until five.

- Owner. Has been fitting customers in this building since 1972 and is usually in the shop.

- Store manager and buyer. Selects most of the range and runs the Private Label line.

- Haberdasher, and directs our ladies’ made-to-measure work.
- Enrique
- Master tailor, over twenty years with us. Every alteration is done by him, on site.
- What that means
- The person who measures you is the person who sees the order through. It is the main practical difference from a department store.

What makes an independent store different?
The buying decisions are made by someone who is in the building, and the person selling you a garment is accountable for it afterwards. In a chain, neither is usually true.
Is it worth the drive for alterations?
If the garment matters, generally yes, because the fitting happens with you in it. For a simple hem, a good local tailor will serve you perfectly well and we would say so.
How long does a first visit take?
About an hour if you are being measured, twenty minutes if you are looking. Worth allowing the hour if you have driven from Dallas.
Can I park easily?
Yes, beside the building. It is one of the quieter advantages of downtown Arlington over Uptown Dallas.
Do you alter clothing bought somewhere else?
Yes, routinely. Enrique works on garments from anywhere, and it is often how new customers first come to us.
