What matters

Worth knowing

Less structure: Softer shoulders and lighter construction. It reads as confident rather than severe.

More texture: Tweeds, hopsacks and cloths with visible weave, rather than flat worsteds.

Western influence: We are asked for it and we are comfortable with it, provided it stays in the cut rather than the decoration.

Boots: If you wear them with tailoring, bring the pair. Trouser length over a boot is a different measurement.

Fifteen miles: The shortest trip of any major city we serve.

The process

Two visits, not five

First appointment: About an hour. Cloth, measurements, and a conversation about how you actually wear the garment.

Build: Four to six weeks. Nothing is rushed and nothing is sent overseas without us knowing where it is.

Collection: Twenty minutes. Anything needing adjustment goes to Enrique, who works on site.

Alterations: Included on what we make. There is no separate bill at collection.

Afterwards: Your pattern stays on file, so the next order is a phone call.

Is Fort Worth tailoring really different from Dallas?

In practice, yes. Fort Worth tends toward softer construction and more textured cloth, and Dallas toward flatter, more formal worsteds. It is a genuine difference in what customers ask us for rather than something we invented.

Do you make women’s Western-influenced tailoring?

Yes. Done properly the influence is in the cut — a yoke, an armhole cut for movement — rather than in decoration, which is what makes the difference between tailoring and costume.

Can trousers be cut for boots?

Yes, and it needs the actual boots at the fitting. Shaft height varies enough that a trouser cut for one pair sits wrong on another.
