Custom denim fitted in Arlington, fifteen miles from downtown Fort Worth, and cut to work over boots. Leg opening and length are specified for the boots you actually wear, which is the measurement shelf denim gets wrong most often here.

- Wider at the hem than a jean cut for a dress shoe, and it needs the actual boots present to get right.
- Stacking
- A jean that bunches above the boot is too long. One that rides up when you sit is too short. The window is narrower than people expect.
- Heavier cloth
- Holds shape over a boot shaft and lasts longer. Worth the small loss in comfort.
- Rise
- Slightly higher works better with a belt and boots, and stops the shirt pulling out.

- Hemming is judged standing, in the shoes you will wear. It is the single most common reason a hem gets redone.
- Try, do not order
- Cuts vary between makers and between models. Five minutes in a fitting room beats any size chart.
- Alterations on site
- Enrique works in the building, so pinning happens with you in the garment.
- We will say no
- If a pair does not work on you, we would rather tell you than sell it.
- Keep a note
- We record what you bought and what it needed, which makes the next pair easier.

What leg opening do I need for boots?
Wider than a jean cut for a shoe, and the exact figure depends on the boot. Bring the pair you actually wear — shaft width varies enough between makers that a number from another pair is a poor guide.
How do I stop the hem wearing out?
Get the length right, first of all, since a hem dragging on the ground is the main cause. A slight taper and a heavier denim both help, and neither requires you to think about it afterwards.
Do you carry boots as well?
Yes, including Tecovas. Fitting the jean and the boot in one visit is considerably easier than doing either in isolation.
Where is the shop?
100 S. West Street in downtown Arlington, with parking beside the building. We have been at it since 1972.
Will someone follow me around the shop?
No. Tell us what you are looking for and we will leave you to it, or help if you want help. Nobody here benefits from pressuring you into something that does not work.
What are your hours?
Monday to Saturday, ten until five. Closed Sundays.
