Mostly forweddings
Nearly every one of these we cut in Arlington is for a wedding, and usually for more than one man.
Western-influenced suits made to measure at The Man’s Shop in Arlington. Most are ordered for weddings, frequently for a whole party in matching cloth. Allow eight to ten weeks once more than three or four men are involved, and remember we sell rather than rent, so everyone keeps theirs.
What matters
Worth knowing
- Whole parties
- We can fit a group in the same cloth with the yoke and cut consistent across all of them, which is harder than it sounds if the men vary in build.
- Timing for a group
- Eight to ten weeks rather than four to six once you are past three or four men.
- Sold, not rented
- Across a party this usually works out better value than renting, and each man owns a suit afterwards rather than returning one.
- Restraint across a group
- A shaped yoke on eight men reads as considered. Contrast piping on eight men reads as a theme.
- Out-of-town groomsmen
- Measurements can be submitted remotely and the suit shipped, which we do regularly for wedding parties.
The process
Two visits, not five
- First appointment
- About an hour. Cloth, measurements, and a conversation about how you actually wear the garment.
- Build
- Four to six weeks. Nothing is rushed and nothing is sent overseas without us knowing where it is.
- Collection
- Twenty minutes. Anything needing adjustment goes to Enrique, who works on site.
- Alterations
- Included on what we make. There is no separate bill at collection.
- Afterwards
- Your pattern stays on file, so the next order is a phone call.
Common questions
Western suits, answered
Can you fit a whole wedding party?
Yes, and it is the most common reason these are ordered here. The cut and yoke stay consistent across men of different builds, which takes longer to get right than a single suit and is the main reason for the extended timeline.
How far ahead should we order for a wedding?
Eight to ten weeks for a group, against four to six for one man. Earlier if any of the party are out of town and measurements have to come to us rather than being taken here.
Is a Western cut too much for a wedding?
Not in Texas, provided it stays restrained. A shaped yoke and good cloth read as deliberate. What tips it into costume is decoration, particularly repeated across a whole party.
