Buy the boots before the tux fitting
The single most common wedding-boot mistake is buying them the week of. A stiff, unworn boot on a twelve-hour day is a bad guest at your own wedding.
Get fitted weeks ahead and wear the boots around the house and the office a dozen times. Calf and ostrich relax quickly; caiman wants a longer runway. By the wedding, the boots should feel like yours — because they will be, for decades after.
Bring the party in together if you can. We fit every man on hard floor, match the leathers to the wedding palette, and Enrique hems every trouser to its boot. Group photos are where mismatched breaks and wrong-register boots go to be noticed; we make sure yours aren’t.

- Unlike rental shoes, wedding boots get worn for twenty years. Amortized over a marriage, they’re the bargain of the outfit.

Fit boots and clothes together
Boots first, then suits and trousers hemmed to them. The pairing is decided with both halves present.

Take the boots home weeks early. By the wedding they walk like old friends and photograph like new money.

When should I buy my wedding boots?

Coordinated beats identical, but stay in one color family and register. Matched smooth calf in one color photographs cleanly; a mix of tans, blacks, and square toes does not.
What boots work for an outdoor or ranch wedding?
The same dress leathers work — just factor the ground. We’ll point you to soles that handle grass and gravel, and darker colors are forgiving of a dusty aisle.
